Laminated glass

Details

Laminated glass, also known as laminated glass, is a PVB interlayer made mainly of polyvinyl butyral sandwiched between two or more pieces of glass. General-purpose laminated glass has two main advantages:

Safety:

Normal glass will break when it is impacted. In a typical shattering situation, many long and sharp fragments will be produced. Tempered glass requires a very large impact force to break, and once broken, the entire glass will shatter into countless fine particles, and only a small amount of glass will remain in the frame. Even if laminated glass breaks, the fragments will stick to the film, and the surface of the broken glass will remain clean and smooth. This effectively prevents fragments from drilling, penetrating, or falling, ensuring personal safety.

Earthquake intrusion resistance:

In Europe and the United States, laminated glass is used in most architectural glass, not only to avoid personal injury, but also because laminated glass is more resistant to intrusion. The interlayer can withstand continuous attacks by hammers, wooden swords, etc., and can withstand long-term penetration, making it relatively safe.

Although ordinary laminated glass also has a sound insulation effect, it cannot be called a true sound insulation glass. However, by technically processing the interlayer structure, it can reduce noise by more than 45 decibels. It has an extremely excellent sound insulation effect that cannot be compared with insulating glass or vacuum glass.
